Topic:  CDPK: a benchmark to assess the pedagogical knowledge of LLMs 

This workshop explores how Large Language Models (LLMs) can transform education in LMICs by providing affordable educational content. We introduce the Cross-Domain Pedagogical Knowledge (CDPK) benchmark, which assesses LLMs' understanding of pedagogy through multiple-choice questions. Topics include LLMs' role in education, the need for pedagogical knowledge, CDPK’s design, and its application to teacher-facing tools. Initial results and future directions will be discussed.
