• Boris Ohanyan’s, Programme Officer, Research and Innovation, GICHD

    Boris Ohanyan is a Programme Officer for Research and Innovation at the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), where he leads initiatives to improve Explosive Ordnance Risk Reduction (EORR) through cutting-edge research and innovative methodologies. With a background in international law and policy, Boris has played a key role in integrating mine action with broader agendas such as the Sustainable Development Goals and the Triple Nexus. He has also contributed to GICHD’s involvement in key international conventions, including the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (APMBC), the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW), and the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM).
    Previously, Boris supported policy development, project management, and training initiatives at GICHD, contributing to publications and workshops on international humanitarian law and sustainable development. Boris continues to advocate for more effective, technology-driven approaches in the field of humanitarian demining.
