What is the Summit about?

The "AI for Development Summit" examines how artificial intelligence can be utilized to advance development goals and tackle global challenges. The event gathers experts, practitioners, and policymakers to explore AI-driven solutions that support sustainable development, enhance public services, and improve quality of life in various settings.

Topics will include:

  • Ethical and Responsible AI in Development Projects: Exploring methodologies for implementing trustworthy AI, ensuring accountability and transparency, and developing democracy-oriented indicators for AI national strategies. Discussions will focus on ethical assessments and responsible AI practices in international development.

  • AI for Social Impact and Crisis Response: Examining how AI can enhance humanitarian efforts, improve cash assistance efficiency, and enable precision aid to target poverty in crisis settings. Keynotes and sessions will highlight AI's role in unlocking community knowledge and improving social impact initiatives.

  • Inclusive and Feminist AI Practices: Delving into the creation of AI systems that are inclusive, ethical, and address gender biases. Sessions will discuss practical applications of feminist AI theories, to ensure technologies serve diverse populations equitably.

  • AI-Enabled Organizational Learning and Decision-Making: Investigating how AI can support continuous adaptive management, enhance knowledge management, and improve decision-making processes in development contexts. Topics include AI for better KM in Ethiopia and leveraging AI for programmatic learning and reflection.
